The aspiring artist doesn't need someone to show them how to make their Art. They need a group of fellow Artists to believe in them, So they can believe in themselves..

Praveen was born on 31st December 1965 in a small town of Shedbal in Belgaum district of Karnataka. His passion for drawing began early and he would take up a charcoal stick and start drawing. Praveen would wake up early in the morning and go to a bus stop to sketch. Wherever he got space he starts drawing because he was so passionate about paintings.

Artist are not made they are born with the talents. When u have a burning desire to chase your dreams you can cross all the limits. Since his childhood he used to draw on the walls of his house, Drawing on the floor of the temple landed him in trouble and scolded by his father. When he was 14 , He came across few people painting an advertisement on a wall . He was instantly drawn towards it .He could not move and he decided to help them so he could learn few things about paintings. He was there till late night and again scolded by his father. Later his father realized the passion of his son towards painting so he got him enrolled in an Art college to Master the basics of Paintings. Finally he gave him permission to pursue a career in it.

Praveen upadhye stepped in to metro city of Delhi in the year 1988 with lot of dreams in his eyes to make a wonderful name in the Art field. In Delhi he met various artists and started participating in art shows. Praveen upadhye is famous for his brahmcharis series. He always knew in his heart that he would go on to create works on brahmacharis one day. Since childhood he has been around brahmcharis . He shared the wall of his room with the Ashram and he used to observe the lives of brahmacharis very closely. He spent enough time in witnessing their life. He found their life very inspiring. His subjects wear long and flowing saffron robes, with red and white tilak on their foreheads and beads around their necks, an bunch of bells. He says that he grew up watching big metal bells hangining at the entrance of the temple. Devotees would ring these bells upon entering. The sound of the bells would bring calmness and peace and people would forget about everything else.

Praveen studied in govt. fine arts school Dharwad (Karnataka) under prof. M.R. Balikai, under his guidance he completed his art master degree. He likes using water colors, but also uses acrylic on canvas to make people aware about the spiritual life of the enlightened ones. He has participated in several shows including Benan Smiti School of fine Art, Belgaum, Lalit kala Akademi Nehru centre (Mumbai), India with Art (Washington DC) etc. Over the years, Pravin has been appreciated by art critics. He strongly believes in appreciating the simplicity of life and is fond of portraying it through his strokes and colours. His observation skills are evident on the canvas.

Artist says that a journey of a thousands miles begins with a single step.
